Number Fourteen Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful building dating back to the early 18th Century. It has only been a house since the 1990s and was a very popular local pub for the rest of it's life. The first record of it's existence as a pub is dated to very early 18th Century when it was called The Blue Boar. It then had several name changes over the next 200 years: in 1802 it was renamed The Barge, in 1809 it was then named The Row Barge until 1847 when it became The Old Barge. It then reverted back to The Row Barge until the 1980s when it had a very unique name ... The Little House Round the Corner Near the Brook!
The old pub has been converted beautifully into a house and retains all of the charm and character that it's history deserves.
Seeing as it's had so many names in the past we didn't think it would hurt to give it one for the 21st century ... hence Number Fourteen, a little less complicated than it's last pub name!
We very much hope that you enjoy your stay at Number Fourteen - a part of Wallingford town's history and heritage.
